Why when I edit my master, it doesn't change instances on sheet?

I am using Visio 3.0. I have modified the basic master's from the flowchart
sheet and saved them to my favorites sheet. When I update a master on my
favorite sheet and save the changes, the instances do not update to reflect
the master changes. What is happening?

It's normal operation. The instances are linked to the document stencil, not
the master stencil.

So how do I get my instances to update with the document stencil? I'm still
confused. Thank you.

Great, I learned how to open the document stencil. Everything works now. I
wish they made this more obvious.
