Why when I sum a column it always reads zero?

I have a spreadsheet and am trying to balance the columns. When I sum the
totals of each column horizantally the result is always zero. it has worked
ok on all the other worksheets but not this one and I don't know what I have
done.

check that the cells are formatted as numbers and not text. You might also
want to put a 1 in a cell, copy it, select the data and paste special &
multiply to confirm all cells are recognised as numbers.
