Why wont Excel save my file?

I have an Excel 2007 spreadsheet that I am trying to save as a csv file. If
I alter any of the data or cell properties and try to close the spreadsheet
I get a message saying Do I want to save the changes. I click on Yes but the
spreadsheet wont close. Anyone any idea what's happening?
