Why won't my Delete Key work in Outlook/Word?

Lately my Delete Key won't work in Word or Outlook (I use Word for my HTML
email). Am using Office 2003 on an XP Pro/SP2 IBM ThinkPad. This just
started about 2 weeks ago and is THE MOST ANNOYING thing that's happened with
this Suite!
