WHY WON'T MY "SCROLL" WORK ON WEB TOOL?

I don't know how to fix the problem with the "sound" and "scroll" option on
the Web Toolbar. The message say,"This object was created in
HTMLInlineSoundCtl. This application is not avaiable to open this object.
Make sure the application is properly installed and that it has not been
deleted, moved, or renamed." The error message for the "scroll" is pretty
much the same.

If you can help me fix this I will greatly appreciate it.

There is no fix. Microsoft discovered that the code in the
HTMLInlineSoundCtl and Marquee objects has a security problem, so
Windows XP SP2 disabled them. There's no indication of when
replacements will be provided. Details are at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=886299.

But I don't have the SP2 with my XP. I did receive an update that added SP1
so I'm assuming that's diabling the option. Is there a way I can disable the
SP1?

Would you rather have a hacker attack?

I believe it's possible to uninstall SP1 if you elected to keep the
replaced files, but I would strongly recommend against it. In fact, I
recommend that you get SP2 as well.
