Why won't speech recognition (voice command) recognize "send"?

I dictate an email in dictation mode then switch to voice command mode and
say "send" because I have a toolbar button that says "send." Speech
recognition knows what I am saying because it displays "send" in the language
bar, but it does not send the email. Exception: I recall two times that it
actually did send the email but I have no idea why. Any suggestions? Thanks
in advance.
