Why won't Text Placeholders keep the text I type after I hit save?

I am using Word 2007. When I type over some of the text placeholders in some
of the cover pages, my text disappears and reverts back to [type company name
here], etc after I hit the save button. The only way I have gotten around
this is to delete the text placeholder and just type my text. It still looks
the same, but I would like to find a solution to this issue.

It doesn't happen with all the text placeholders. Some of them will keep
what I typed, but some wont.

any ideas?
