Does Word for Mac 2008 have a feature to allow or disallow "widow and orphan" text? If so, where is this feature?

Also, isn't there a manual for Word somewhere? Where is that?

Thanks.

Format->Paragraph->Line and Page Breaks

You can save this in a Style -- including the Normal Style if you want
to have your chosen behavior in all documents.

Hello Marshall -

In addition to the reply from MC - Widow/Orphan control in Word is ON by
default & a part of the default Normal Style's definition. Any Styles based
on Normal will inherit the attribute unless you choose to set it
differently.

As to the 2nd part of your request, Word Help is one of the best resources -
although 2008's is a bit less than perfect right now. It is improving on a
daily basis, so it's still one of the first places to look & it will lead
you to some good online tutorials. You might also explore the Mactopia web
site:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.mspx

Additionally, you'll find some excellent material here:

http://word.mvps.org/Mac/WordMacHome.html

And if you're serious in your use of Word I highly recommend Clive Huggan's
notes entitled "Bend Word to Your Will" which can be downloaded from that
site... And of course you've already found *us*:)
