As I understand it, the width of the Data Validation drop down list should be
the same width as the column. In my workbook, for some unknown reason,
sometimes the drop down list will be much wider than the column. Then just as
suddenly, the list will go back to being the correct width. During these
times, I'm doing other mods unrelated to the DV lists. But I haven't been
able to deduced what action affects this.
Does anyone have any idea what is causing the lists to get too wide?
I have beat my head against this for a very long time. I've tried insuring
that the contents of the list are not too wide, I've reformatted the columns
of both the column using the list and the source column of the list. Nothing
I know to do fixes it. I've tried to zoom the WS and unzoom it, NOTHING. I
have no idea why it suddenly fixes itself, but then later changes again.
It happens on all versions of Excel I've used, Excel 2002 (Office XP), Excel
2003, and Excel 2007.
Any help is REALLY appreciated.
