Wierd! No Adobe PDF option in "SOME OF" Office 2003?!?!?!?

I know this has been addressed, with futility, but I have a new spin
on them matter. The consensus was that Microsoft didn't consider
supporting Acrobat, or vice versa. Who cares whose to blame, it
doesnt work. They should work together. But thats anothe rstory.

ANYWAY,l I have Office 2003 with Acrobat 6 Pro 6.01. Word shows no
signs of the PDF maker toolbar button or Adobe PDF menu bar. BUT
EXCEL DOES!!!!
How weird is that? Is this a clue. Can anyone sculpt this clue into
an answer? Help ;^)

Hi Todd,

In order for the functionality of add-in to appear in an application
it needs to be placed in the correct location.

In Word for an add-in to automatically load when Word starts in needs
to be in either the Word Startup folder or Office\Startup folder.

You can obtain the location of your Word Startup folder under
Tools/Options/File Locations. The Office\Startup folder is located in
the installation path.

Search for PDFMaker.dot and verify it is in one of these locations. If
it isn't then move or copy PDFMaker.dot to either folder.

Thank Beth,

Truns out I had three listed in there, 2 duplicaes:

PDFMaker.dot, PDFMakerA.dot x 2

PDFMaker.dot (the older version I presume) was selected. Deleted it
and one of the extra PDFMakerA.dot and all was well again. Thanks.
Stragely, Excel and Powerpoint remained unaffected by this, only Word
got confused.

Hi Todd,

Glad to hear everything is sorted. :)

Only Word recognizes PDFMaker.dot. Excel and PowerPoint use different
add-ins. Excel uses PDFMaker.xla and PowerPoint uses PDFMaker.ppa.
