Will deleting completed PWA tasks assigns delete data in Project P

I have seen the procedure from Dale Howard on deleting completed tasks from
the PS database. I just want to confirm some basic information regarding
that. Deleting completed tasks via the PWA Admin page will only affect
viewing assignment information in Project Web Access, correct? In other
words, if the PM were to open the plan in Project Pro 2003, they would still
see that Task X has been completed by Resource Q, correct? I just want to
confirm that deleting completed assignments will only drop them off from the
Resources/View Resource Assignments page in PWA. Why would Microsoft not
have an option for a PM to hide everything complete?

Is it correct to say that an assignment is a different table composed of
task info and resource info?

Also, will deleting completed tasks also delete cancelled tasks or do I have
to run that separate SQL script to do that?

Hope all of this makes sense. Thank you for your help!

Deleting tasks using the PWA Clean up Project Server database feature only
deletes the tasks from each user's timesheet in PWA. It does NOT delete the
tasks from the actual Microsoft Project plan.

Yes, an assignment consists of a "join" between task data and resource data.

Deleting completed tasks does not delete cancelled tasks. You will need to
use a SQL script to delete cancelled tasks. Hope this helps.
