Will Mac 04 VBA macros work in Excel for Windows 07?

I understand that VBA is not included in Excel 08 for Mac. However, if I
continue to use Excel 2004 on the mac and create VBA macros, will those
functions work cross-platform for user of the new Excel for Windows 2007?

I know it's been said before, but the omission of VBA in Excel 08 is hugely
disruptive.

Thanks.

Hi Rick,

You can safely use VBA in Excel 2004 and almost everything will work
fine in Excel 2007 for Windows. The Mac version of VBA is version 5. On
the Windows side it's Version 6, but practically everything in version 5
is supported.

Of the many thousands of commands, properties, and methods only a
handful are not exactly the same, and usually it's just a matter of a
small syntax change.

As a free bonus, your code will also have a good chance of working in
OpenOffice Calc (Mac and Windows) and NeoOffice Calc (Mac) on both, but
more tweaking will be needed in most cases.

If you run into problems that you can't figure out, this newsgroup is an
ideal place to post code snippets that are giving you a fit. Someone
will likely have the answer you seek.
