Will MS Project 2007 support .mpd format?

I have a program to read .mpd files. But from the beta version of Project
2007, it seems in the future a project can not be saved in either .mpd or
..mdb format. I hope some one can tell me this is only for beta version, and
MS project 2007 will still support mpd!

Do I have to rewrite my program to read .xml?
