Will MS Project Server remove the need for separate resource SW?

Hi there

Will MS Project Server replace the need for separate resource planning
software?

The company I work for were planning to invest in resource planning software
to book people's time against activities and also record annual leave and
room bookings.

We are also implementing MS Project Server - will this remove the need for
the general resource planning tool?

Hope you can help.

Regards

Chris.

It can, depending on your organizations's specific needs. Project Server can
do the things you listed. Whether it can do them in a way that is acceptable
to your organization (meets process, control and reporting requirements, etc)
is something to be evaluated.

I'd recommend either a Proof of Concept using an evaluation copy of Project
Server, or at least a consultation with a Microsoft Project Partner.
