Will not let me save formula in customized fields

R

Ron

Whenever I enter a formula into a customized field it
won't let me save. No error message, I click OK and
nothing happens.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Ron

Mike,
Thanks for the fast response
I'm trying to create a column that will use Red, Yellow, &
Green indicators to show if a task is Behind schedule, On
schedule or not scheduled to start. This could be based on
the % comp or finish date.
I'm new to conditional formatting so I'm sure there are
errors in my initial attempts. Any advice....

Thanks,
Ron

Sorry Mike,

I thought I was responding to the other Ques.
The 2nd question i have is whenever I enter a formula into
a customized field it will not let me save it. I'vve tried
entering IIF([% Complete]<1,IIF([Finish]<[Current
Date],"Yes","No"))into different fields but whenever I
click OK, nothing happens and I end up having to close the
window down without the formula being saved.

OK, Ron. I've tried your formula in Text1 field and it works OK for me.
When you press OK, the formula is automatically saved provided you don't get
an error message. If you select Customise/Formula, it should still be
there.

Hi,

Sorry to pop in but it occurred to me that it sounds as if you are trying to
type a formula directly into a field in a view. Forgive me if that is not
the case.
If it is...formulas are entered in Tools, Customize, fields

Mike,

Once I enter the formula and hit "OK" there is no
response. The formula window stays open and the only way
out is to close or cancel. Could this be a problem in my
setup or possibly an error within the program itself??

Thanks,
Ron

Hi Ron,

If that is the case, then I suspect corruption :( Try with a new project
and see if it works. Have you another PC to try it on? If not, unless
someone else has other ideas, I suggest you try re-installing Project.
