Will not open a third time

I am running Office 2000 under Windows XP. The third time I try to open Word
it will not open but gives exception code 00395c27. If I delete normal.dot
Word will open twice but the third time ina row it gives the error message
again. This happens to all users on this PC using different profiles.

Corrupt or out of date printer or graphics drivers, error on HDD, bad
network card or network point, virus or spyware, bad template or add-in that
they are using causing normal.dot to corrupt and possibly a thousand more
reasons. As every user has their own copy of normal.dot in their own profile
that they use when they log in and start Word, it would point more towards a
common element outside Word.

Have you go Prompt to Save to Normal Template checked under Tools, Options,
Save tab? If so, does the prompt come up and what is triggering it?
