Will NOT "Save." Will not "Save As..." (Word 2007).

A few days ago, without any changes to my computer or any settings, Microsoft
Word 2007 stopped allowing me to save documents.

I cannot save new documents, I cannot save old documents that I have opened
for review or change.

I tried uninstalling. I tried reinstalling. It stopped at "Applying
updates" at the very end of installation. When I chose cancel, it would not
respond.

I chose to Task Manager, "End Task" it, I opened Word and could not save
still. I tried to open "Help" and an error message popped up.

Is it activated?
In Word, Orb Btn>Word Options>Resources
Or is it a trial that has expired?
