Will Office97 work on XP-Pro???

Hi ..probably a dumb question ..

I'm ordering a new pc with an XP-Pro platform. I need it to also have MS
Word and Excel software as well, which the pc does not come with ..without
an extra upcharge.

I do however already own a MS Office97, Small Business Edition disk. Will
my existing Office97 work with the new XP-Pro ..and if so, are they any down
sides to using such an old version.

Not dumb at all. Yes, it should run. Make sure you apply all service packs
and patches.

The down side is that supports ends for every product at some point in time.
But if you have all the functionality you need and don't require much
support, it shouldn't hurt to stay with what works for you.
