Will speech recognition work with a digital recorder?

We were evaluating installation of voice recognition software (e.g.
DragonVoice) and realized that Office includes speech recognition. Will it
work with a digital recorder or only with a microphone and direct dictation
to the PC? If a recorder will work, where can we get more information about
compatability requirements?

Only microphone input works as I understand it. You could try "line out"
from the recorder into "line in" on the sound card. YMMV. Or you could
just get the digital recorder setup from DragonVoice and skip the
monkeeing around.

Thanks for quick reply. That was my impression after searching all help info
but as I am not that familiar with SR, I thought I should double-check.
