Win 98 startup creates Word 97 Document

Every time I restart my Windows 98 Gateway machine, a new Word 97 document is
opened. This happens before logon.

Seems to have started following load of Adobe and running of Spybot S&D
(This machine was infected with malware.)

Have run anti-malware (CWShredder/sysclean/Spybot) and anti-virus
(Stinger/Norton 2005) without result.

Ran MSCONFIG but no obvious culprits in STARTUP.

Can anyone help – this is driving me crazy! TIA…

Sorry - message from the newsgroup said the post had failed - twice!

Issue now resolved - Word was in the scheduler, scheduler had been added to
startup by new program installed. Word removed from scheduler, problem solved.

MS Article ID 188867 helped me work it out.
