Win.dat sent instead of attachments

I have figured out how to prevent this, but I more curious as to why
it started happening (i.e. Win.dat is sent instead of my attachment).
I am using Outlook 2002, and I have been using Word as my editor
without any problems. Now I cannot use Word or the RTF in Outlook in
order to send attachments correctly. Why?

Not all mailclients support RTF format (actualy Outlook is pretty much on
its own on this). When you create a RTF-mail and it is received by a
mailclient which doesn't support RTF-format the win.dat file gets attached
containing some data not supported by Plain Text. When the other client is
also Oulook the mail including attachment will arrive the way it was send.

Hope this helps!
