Win Picture and Fax Viewer jammed after installation of SP1 MSO 2

noticed that after installing SP1 for MSO 2003 the Windows Picure and Fax
Viewer gets jammed every time whilst clicking an image/picture from within
the explorer. using 'open with' option and then the viewer the application is
opening instantly, whithout being jammed. anyone seen that and having an idea
of the cause, respectively a solution to it?
