Win Word (Not Responding)

Word 2000 will not open. Receiveing the following message:
The system is dangerously low in resources!
Would you like to terminate the following application?
Win Word( Not Responding)
I am operating in the Millennium version of MS
Any help would be appreciated

[Same problem]

I had the same problem since last week but was able to fix it based on the information I obtained here. Go to http://word.mvps.org/FAQ's/AppErrors?probsOpening/Word.htm. There is step by step instructions to edit your registry files
It worked!! Finally.
