Hi,

I have onenote sp1 installed and the power toy for sending from IE to One
Note ...

Recently, when I boot up windows2000 the folder opens that contains the One
Note Power toy opens.

Wondering how to stop this ...

TIA

Check your Startup folder under Start | Programs, and the various Run keys
in the Registry. There's a value there somewhere that is trying to start
something but is probably missing a quote somewhere.

Thanks for the reply Erik.

I did as you suggested without finding a startup reference for that folder
that opened. I ended up uninstalling the powertoy as I did not really use it
that much. I believe it all related to the use of Active Scripting in IE,
and when I turned that off, the system could not take care of the "problem"
itself, breaking the script. Interestingly turning it back on, did not
resolve the problem. This powertoy is not ready for prime time IMHO.

I've had the same problem, and have also uninstalled this powertoy, but not
for that reason. If it would actually grab the page as it is on the website
without shifting all of the graphics around, it would be more useful. As it
is, it copies a very messy page. If I need the text I want to save to be
searchable, I just select it and drag it to a side note. If I don't need to
search the text, but just want to save it to re-read it, I use the
WebPage2OneNote powertoy or the OneNote Image Writer to send it to OneNote.

I have to agree that this particular powertoy is pretty useless as it is.
The other three are much more useful, IMHO.

And one more thing, to Eric. I have searched high and low in the registry
and have also not been able to figure out where the error is that causes the
folder to open on booting. It would be much more helpful if you, or one of
the other MVP's, or, even better, the person who created the
SendtoOneOneFromIE powertoy, would figure out where the problem is and let
everyone know; or better yet post a fix!
