Window cycling

Hi,
for some reason Office 2008 still doesn't the "Move focus to next
window" shortcut from System Preferences. In Word you can use "Customize
Keyboard" to add it yourself, but in Excel the commands available in
that dialog are far fewer, none of which pertain to window cycling :(
Any workaround?

I can't reproduce this - which shortcut exactly are you referring to?
When I change the "Move focus to next window in active application"
shortcut, it works in both Word08 and XL08.

For me it's cmd+`

Really? Here it works fine for TextEdit and others but not at all in
Excel and only after customization in Word...

Yup - works straight out of the box for me. I'm on a MacBook Pro, and
IIRC, it works find on my desktop too.

Are you sure you didn't have previous customizations (e.g., in Office
04) that got picked up in Office 08?

A weird connection came up: it does work when the keyboard layout is set
to German but not for US. Both times I'm pressing the key next to the
left shift key, so it should be the other way round since System
Preferenes shows Cmd+`. I have one other Carbon app with the same
problem.

That's interesting - as you can see from these newsgroups, there's been
a number of keyboard issues - and it's hard to tell what might be
Apple's responsibility and what might be MS's.

With the Geman keyboard you can cycle through the workbooks using the
Cmd + Shift + ' (found to the left of the backspace button) keyboard
combination.
