Window search index stopped working.....still 'indexing' items...

Can't search "All Mail Items" as it is still indexing items. Downloaded
hotfix after getting dialog boxes indicated it stopped working and had to
close. Also in control panel>Indexing Options>Advanced>Restore
default......and is still indexing and returning only partial results when
doing an instant search in All Mail Items. Is there any way to correct this
problem as the hotfix seemed to do nothing? and the indexing procedure
doesn't seem to complete.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Which hotfix are you referring to?
Are you using Windows Desktop Search 4?
Did you let Outlook to run long enough to allow WDS to index Outlook?
Note that WDS only indexes when your computer is idle.

Hotfix refers to "KB Article Number(s): 952093", but I didn't notice a
difference after installing this. I did however click control panel>classic
view>indexing options>Outlook>Advanced>restore defaults, and after it took
some time to re-index it now seems to be working okay....but I don't know for
how long. It worked fine for quite a while before it recently started giving
me the error msgs.

P.S. How can I tell if I'm using "Windows Desktop Search 4"?...can't seem
to find it in installed programs. I'm referring to the quick search feature
in Outlook 07.
