Window size problem with Word 97

I am using Word97 (does all I need) on W2000 platform. It
has worked perfectly for years.

Recently a problem has developed where the Word window
disappears completely if I click the symbol for reducing
the size of the window. It can only be recovered by right
clicking the application on the status bar and
clicking "maximize".

The strange thing is that when my son logs on as a
separate user, the program behaves normally.

Any clues please???

Somehow this has gone off screen. To resolve this, open two Word documents
and place them both in Restore mode. Right-click on the Task Bar and select
one of the Tile Options. Then close one of the documents and reset the other
tiles document to the size you want the Restore windows. All should be OK
again.

imagined but with the clues you gave me I am now back in
