Window Sizing and Position on desktop

I do not know if this is a Word or Window XP issue.

I know if you start Word, click on the 'restore down' icon (next to th
close icon at the top right corner of the Word window), then resize th
screen, then close Word, if you open up Word again, the same siz
screen and position is remembered and displayed.

Where is this information stored?

Background, I have a application that lauch Word, but I don't want Wor
opened in a window that is Maximized. I want to launch Word in
'restored down' window mode and a determined window size and position.
If the person changes the position and/or size of the window that Wor
is loaded into, I want to change the window size/position informatio
back to a set window position and size when Word is lauched again.

I suspect that this information is in the registry, but where

Hi Leschew,

How is this application launching Word? Using automation, DDE, or a
"Shell" type command? Would it be able to us automation?

I suspect the information is stored in the Registry, but not in "clear
text" format; more likely in binary. Which means you really won't be able
to get at it. You'd need to manipulate the window size as part of the
application doing the launching.
