Window won't open full size

I have a site with links to other sites.

E.G.

alt="" title="ABC Classic FM Radio" width="150" height="24" /></a>

This opens in a window about 25% of the fullscreen

I thought it might be an IE problem. So I dragged the corners of the window
to full size and then closed it.

I have tried the Close button at top left (White X in red square) in 3 ways
Close
ctrl-Close
alt-Close

None of these make any difference. The next time I opened it, it was the
smaller size again

So what am I doing wrong?
I should know the answer but I don't !!!

Close all browser windows except one. Resize this to the size you want
then close it. From here on all browser windows should open at that
size.

The browser will open at the same size as it was last closed in the
previous browsing session.
