Windowing bug in Word 2004 for Mac

T

tepper

Recently I have been suffering from a bug in Word in which a document
will sometimes open with a large blank space below the text and scroll
bars. Nothing I do makes it go away except quiting the application.
WHen this happens scrolling in the main window is also munged and
results in duplicate lines but no real scrolling. It happens randomly
to files that sometimes behave normally, to old files, and to brand new
files that I create. Any ideas?

Yes. It's a known bug. Make sure you have applied the latest service
release: that partially fixes it.

If you flip into Normal View and back to Page Layout View, that should fix
it.

Cheers

Or hit the "Page up" key twice, then the "Page down" key twice (note: not
the other way round).
