Windows 2000 user switches on PC - is asking for data1pro.msi for each new user that logs on

We have Office 2000 SR-1 SP3 as part of our computer image for Windows 2000
SP3.
When a different users initially logs onto the system and attempts to open
an office application it requires the office CD. Problem is that the users
do not have access to that CD.
What can we do to avoid this?
Thanks.

That was quite a lot of information but I'm not sure it gives me an answer
that matches the problem.
Once office2k is installed on the laptop by an admin with access to the cd,
user #2 with only local admin rights logs onto the machine - no issues.
Then user #2 decides to open word, this automatically launches the microsoft
installer that asks for the original office cd. This part will not be
possible in our environment.
If I do insert the original cd and click ok, word opens and the cd is never
needed again. No indication as to what the cd was needed for.
Any additional direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael,

Was Office installed for that user? For each new
user, as mentioned in the article on sharing computers
registry and folder entries need to be created.
Accessing the original installation media is needed
to create the entries.
