Window's 95 version of Office

Does anyone know if Windows 95 version of office can be loaded onto Windows
XP home edition? I bought the 95 edition for my computer at the time and have
the CD, but I now have a Sony laptop that used to have XP Professional on it.
I had that installed by the gurus where I worked until last June so I could
keep in touch when I travelled. I no longer have acess to them since I
retired. My computer had to go in for repair and when it came back it had
been reloaded with XP home, which came on the computer when purchased.

I would like to have MS Word and Excel back.

You should be able to load Office 95 onto an XP operating system with no
trouble. If you do have a problem with running it you may have to use the
compatibility function of the XP OS.

I have installed Office 4.3 (a Windows 3.1 program) on a system running XP
and it runs fine. I don't have a copy of Office 95. Office 97, 2000, 2002
& of course 2003 works well on XP.

All you can lose by trying the install is time.

Thank you to both of you. This is my first time at this forum. I really
appreciate the help. Merry Chistmas.
