Windows 98 - Word Error

I keep getting an error message: "this program has
performed an illegal operation and will shut down".
Is there a fix for the problem? It occurs quite
frequently.

Remove Word. Run a scandisk then defrag the system in
safe mode. Now re-install word & see what happens. you
should also install the latest patches for the version of
word you have.
