Windows Authentication in Project Web Access

Mike

I cannot for the life of me figure out why I can't log in
to a new installation of Project Server 2002. I can log in
as the administrator, but even though mixed mode is
enabled, no Windows logins are successful. What did I miss?

Have you set up user accounts in Project Web Access and specified them as
using Windows User Account authentication?

Yes, indeed. I have set up my login (domain\username
format) and checked to be sure that the account is set for
Windows Authentication. The login is valid in the domain.

I set up a test account (different user name) and can
login to the site with Project authentication.

Thanks for your help.

I get this message: You have entered an incorrect user
name/password combination. (5002)

Thanks.

You've missed something in your setup.

Hi Gary,

I just bought your excellent book, and worked through the
uninstall/install chapter with the same results:

Logged on to the Web Access site as Adminstrator, no
problems. I can access the STS web site also.

As Administrator, created an administrative user with
Windows authentication, referencing local account
server\STS_Admin.

Tried to log on as STS_Admin, and as server\STS_Admin, but
I cannot log into the Web Access site. Message is "invalid
usersname/password combination (5002)".

The only variance is that this server is on SP3. Should I
go to SP4?

I followed the steps and I have no problem there. I just
can't log on using Windows authentication for any of the
users I have set up within Project Server.

Thanks.
