Windows Bitmap properties

Hello, I hope I am posting this question in the right place. I have
Windows XP Home Edition and I would like to add some personal
information to some of my images that are bitmaps. Now when I right
click on a bitmap image, choose properties and then select the summary
tab, then simple, everything is greyed out and I am not able to edit
any field such as: Title, Subject, Author.. etc.

I'm able to edit the summary fields if it's any other kind of image,
but just not any bitmap ones. Does anyone know how I go about changing
this? Thanks.

Also, on my computer at work, these fields are editable for bitmaps.
So I know that it is possible to edit these fields.
