Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.
You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the
item.

I get this message when trying to execute any program or
access any file.

Anybody have a suggestion where I should look.

I've seen this before with a certain virus. It has been awhile though. Exe
files won't run, but Com files will and so the antivirus companies made a
utility as a Com file to remove the virus.

If you have an further questions regarding this, may I suggest the newsgroup
for your version of Windows. This group is for the MS Access Database
Program.
