Windows configures Visio

Why, on opening Visio 2002 or 2003, does a box appear "Please wait while
Windows configures Visio .....".

It takes about 30 seconds to "gather information". What is it doing, and
why is it necessary?

Is it because I have 3 or 4 versions of Visio coexisting????
