I am running Windows Desktop Search in Windows XP. I use Outlook 2007. I have
a large number of rules defined to place messages in various folders. The end
result is the duplication of WDS indexing following the application of a move
rule. WDS shows the message twice, once in the inbox where it no longer
exists and again in the folder to which it is moved.
I decided to try XOBNI for my email and found it seems to work quite well. I
then disabled Outlook in the WDS options and reindexed. Outlook keeps being
indexed by WDS, even though it is disabld in the WDS options, with the same
resulting dupes. There are no dupes in XOBNI.
Any suggestions or thoughts? Is XOBNI a good email search app? Do I need to
totally disable and/or uninstall WDS? Incidently, WDS seems to index my email
even when I snooze it.
