Windows Desktop Search update 3.01

I have recently installed Office 2007 - upgrading from 2000. I am now being
nagged in install an update to Windoes Desktop Search (to 3.01). I have
tried to do this, but the install fails telling me to firstly uninstall a
previous version of WDS.

However, there is no indication of how to do this. There is now Windows
Desktop Search in Add/Remove programs and my feeble attempts to search Help
have been frustrating and fruitless.

Surely, I'm not the only person the have this ... can anyone tell me what
I'm missing.
