Windows don't close completely

Have 2 machines with XP Pro for OS and XP Pro office
suite. When closing an app such as Otlook or Word, part
of the window remains visible on the screen. It does not
show in task manager and remains on top of any other apps
that we open. The only way to clear is to restart the PC.
This is increasing in frequency so continuous reboots is
unsatisfactory. Any ideas?

Hi, Clint,

From a troubleshooting standpoint, have you checked to see if a different
(updated or older) video driver makes any difference? Or if a different
display resolution makes any difference?

Susan: have not tried that. I will look into it. We
didn't consider it before since these two are part of a
shipment of 30 units, all pre-installed with, supposedly,
identical hardware. These are the only two of the 30 that
have this problem.
