Windows Installer always starts when Visio starts

Visio 2003 Pro on WinXP Pro.
Each time I start Visio, the Windows Installer
fires up, with the message "Please wait while
Windows configures Microsoft Office Visio
Professional 2003".

After the status bar reaches the end, the dialog
closes and Visio starts normally. Even if I
click Cancel, the Visio still starts normally.

Anyone knows why is this and how to get
rid of the nagging thing?

Something in the install is "damaged". Best bet is to uninstall and then
reinstall.
You can try a repair but my bet is you'll waste your time and end up
re-installing anyway.

I did try that already, but the problem remains. This used to happen on
systems where there were simultaneously installed MS Office programs from
different Office versions. However, that is not my case.

I am having the identical problem, which started after I updated Office
2003 and Visio 2003 to SP2 -- two separate upgrades.
