Windows installer error 1601 in Microsoft Word

Hello - when I try to access a template such as a calendar, I get this
message: "Microsoft cannot install necessary files due to Windows installer
error 1601."

I've tried searching this website but couldn't find anything that applied to
my problem. I'm hoping someone here will be able to help, and I thank you in
advance.
