Windows Installer Error

Hi, whenever I open an Office product I get the following
error mesage: "Microsoft word (excel etc) can't display
the template used in this
document. Cannot install the necessary files due to
Windows installer
error 1605. This action is only valid for products that
are installed."I get Several sequential error messages saying the same
thing--if I click
OK through all of them, eventually I am able to use the
product (it
appears) normally
I have tried to reinstall the Office XP, but to no avail.
