I recently ran Windows update, which updated Net Framework and Windows
Installer. Since installing Windows Installer for Windows XP KB942288-v3 x
86 (the 4.5 version for XP)--Windows Installer runs every time I open any
Office 2007 program. When I attempt to view an attachment in Outlook,
Windows Installer will flash on the screen, but then an error message
appears--Installation Source is Not available. Verify that source exists and
that you can access Source. This warning flashed every time I tried to open
any Office program before I created a set of new shortcuts on my desk, which
allows me to access the programs (finally). Windows Installer still flashes
on screen whenever I perform any function in Office programs.
Since I lost full functionality to Outlook, I thought I would try to
re-install but install doesn't work.
Is there any way for me to correct this?
