windows installer loads again and again

Hello to all....

Whenever I click on one of my Microsoft
Office 2000 Icons, the Windows Installer box appears and
gives me the "preparing to install" message. It procedes
through the regular loading sequence and than eventually
the application starts. This occurs whether I try to load
Word or Excel. I would appreciate any help trying to get
this process to stop.
