windows Installer problem

Whenever I go to start MS Access the system brings up a window with "Windows Installer" and stalls. Access does not open. MW Word brings the same message and waits a few minutes then eventually it opend MS Word.

I did a "fix and repair", but that didn't help. Office was working fine till I downloaded Acrobat update. I am not sure if that was the cause, but that is the only thing different that I did

Charles:

What version of Office are you running? Did you do the detect and repair
when logged on as an administrator on your machine? Have you tried a
complete uninstall and reinstall?
