Windows installer runs everytime I open Outlook 2000. After fooling around
with it, it has also started opening after opening various "help' utilities.
After several unsuccessful atteempts to get rid of this nuicense, I now get a
message "looking for folder containing Package
'{406FA02-1BOA-11D4-AED6-00C04F022C53}'. I have run Install Clean-up,
removiing both MS office disk 1 and 2. ( Earlier, there were error messages
asking for both those "disks" with SP1 designator. Mine just says disk 1 and
2. Anyway, the instructions said to rerun the Office installation. When I
did so, it got to a point on disk 1 and popped an error message/dialog box
asking me where MS ACESS DATABASE was. (Error 1919 "Error configuring ODBC
datasource:MS ACESS DATABASE, OBDC error6:component not found in registry.
Verify that the file MS ACESS DATABASE exists and that you can find it. The
installation then reversed and reported that it was unsuccessfull. "Retry
and Ignore buttons just beep.
After that, I ran the Window search utility for all hard disks and for
hidden and system files and it couldn't find MS ACCESS DATABASE either. Now
what?
P.S. I just tried to open "Word" from the desk top to check the spelling of
Nuisense and got told the short cut only works with currently installed
programs. O Sheet!--
