windows installer runs everytime I open a word doc

I have this problem with msword 2000 (running win2k).

I was able to get a complete copy of teh article.
I tried all three steps (orktools, registry and msaccess re-install) - no
change.
I still have the problem.

This installer problem started.
Tried everything in that article.
Then I tried this tool. After that it claimed tere was no association with
the .doc file type.
I fixed that and tried to open a doc. No errors, nothing at all happened.
I re-installed office from scratch again.
Same installer problem.
