Nasty problem:
I installed Office Professional 2007 on my Windows XP SP2 system. All
patches and updates have been installed.
I have read through the posts in this newsgroup but have yet to find a
working solution.
Whenever I try to start an Office program, say Word, every time a dialog
box stating "Configuring Microsoft Office Professional 2007..." comes up.
To say this is irritating is putting it mildly.
I have tried the Windows Installer "Fix", it doesn't.
I have removed and reinstalled, as Administrator, Windows Office
Professional 2007 several times. This has not fixed the problem.
Also, other programs when starting up also call the Windows Installer.
Fortunately the startup time for them is only a few seconds. The Office
2007 programs take minutes to start and configure.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
