I'm having some trouble changing / removing my current MS
Office 2000 installation, as whenever I attempt to change
it (via add/remove programs, or via setup on the CD), I
get an error messge as below :
"The windows installer service could not be accessed.
This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode,
or if the windows installer is not correctly installed"
Now I'm not running in safe mode, and as far as I can
tell I have a standard install of Windows XP and Office.
I found an article on the MS Knowledge base (article
217521), but it doesn't really cover my problem as I am
definitely logged on as an admin user.
Can anybody help me, as I am desperately trying to add
Access to my installation of office, but am struggling. I
can't even remove my windows installation and start
fresh! Any help would be appreciated.
